These are the arms of Simon Fraser University. The main part of the shield is that of the Chief of Clan Fraser of Lovat (of which Simon Fraser was a member), with the chief (red, with a book for knowledge and two crosses) and border added for difference. The five-petalled flowers in the blue quarters of the shield are strawberry blossoms, ie, fraises- a clear reference to the name. The motto reads, "We Are Ready".
