Academic Heraldry

There are many universities in Canada which have coats of arms, although there are also many which seem to prefer corporate logos instead. I have tried to collect as many as possible.

Although it is normally allowed for an alumnus to "display" the coat of arms of his/her alma mater (eg, to hang a copy on the wall of the den), it is inappropriate to use it as decoration for one's homepage, any more than it would be allowed to put it on one's stationary. Thus, please don't download these images to put on your homepage, unless you are trying to set up your own academic heraldry page (in which case you should, of course, give up and put up a link to mine!). The majority of the images are taken from Beddoe's Canadian Heraldry, an excellent and highly recommended book. The pages which contain images from this work are marked with the badge of the Heraldry Society of Canada.
