Brock University

These are the arms of Brock University, in St. Catherine's, Ontario. The eagle is taken from the arms of Sir Isaac Brock, the War of 1812 hero for whom the university is named, as are the colours of red and gold (cf. Brockville). In the chief, the maple leaf (in autumnal hues) and the trillium represent Canada and Ontario, respectively. The crest consists of a torch (the light of learning....) with a snake wrapped around it (as in medicine), in front of two crossed "peace pipes" (representing the First Nations of the area). The supporters are a beaver (Canada) and a badger (also known as a "brock").
