This is one of the many lovely cathedrals in Kyiv. They're being fixed up and renovated now that the communists can't disapprove.

Another church, with monastary, as seen from within the botanical gardens. The river in the background is the Dnieper.

This is a king named Bohdan. Bohdana (my wife) isn't really named after him, since he went along with Peter the Great's plans to "re-unify" Ukraine with Muscovy (later called Russia).

This is the most famous statue in Kyiv- the Soviet war memorial. Bohdana doesn't like her (she's too Soviet, and is made out of old spoons), and I suspect that neither does anyone else in the area (there are no postcards with her picture on them, unlike nearly every other statue in the city).

This is me and Jaroslaw (the Wise). He built the city wall around Kyiv (the Golden Gate of which can be seen behind us), and was famous for wise deeds like bringing in sanitation and stuff.
