This is a drawing, done by Marty, Jr., of Marty (my PhD supervisor) and I, both doing what we do best.

This is Karl Marx, the favourite son of Chemnitz (aka Karl-Marx-Stadt), even though he never actually set foot in the city. Eight metres high, granite and bronze.

This is a detail of the old rathaus (city hall) of Chemnitz. Note the coat of arms of the city (per pale, or two pallets azure, or a lion rampant sable, armed and langued gules).

This is a detail from the back of the rathaus.
