The City of Victoria, B.C.

The red pointy bit represents the peninsula on which the city is located, surrounded by the blue sea. The white fimbriation separating the two colours forms a "V" (for Victoria- what else?); the crown, of course, represents Queen Victoria, after whom the town was named. The colours (red, white, and blue) are taken from the Union Jack, and are meant to show Victoria's loyalty to the crown. The angels are actually supposed to represent "twin sisters of civilization and colonization". The terrible crest (a crest is supposed to be something that could actually have been stuck onto a helmet- rays of light hardly count) represents hope.
