The County of Haliburton

This device was sent to me by Paul Kidd. It bears a golden chevron on a white field (violation of tinture rule, so clearly this is not a legal coat of arms), between pine trees (representing the forests of the county) and a sprig of maple leaves (presumably representing the proximity of the county to the capital, Ottawa, as well as patriotism). The crest is a deer, representing the wildlife of the area.

The symbolism in the motto "Watch Weel" is unknown to me. I would assume that Haliburton is named after someone, and that there is an armigerous Haliburton out there somewhere with the same motto or slogan. (It's still a much better motto, in my opinion, than the usual "Top Three Priorities" found in civic arms, eg. "Industry Integrity Progress", &c.)
